iPad Mini Retina Launch
Posted 13 November 2013 - By Mike Green
Apple have very quietly launched the iPad Mini Retina (or iPad Mini 2).
Analysts have suggested that the dubbed "stealth" launch is due to the ongoing reports that available units will be very low due to production issues with the new retina screen. It's virtually unheard of that Apple would launch a major product without all the usual hype. Maybe once production has increased in the New Year Apple will start promoting and pushing the tablet more.
The launched caught everyone out as Apple had previously stated that it would be 'Later in November', however it may have also been brought forward after an internal memo intended for resellers and support technicians was leaked advising the plans of the impending launch.
Production of about 2 million units of the iPad Mini Retina are predicted for the rest of 2013, which is not a lot considering in previous launches the same amount were sold in a single weekend.
It also seems that the iPad Mini with Retina is only available online as Apple High Street stores are reporting no stock.
A few UK retailers are currently taking orders and we recommend ordering very soon if you want one before Christmas. Here at iPad-Stock.co.uk we will be constantly monitoring for availability with our real time stock checker.
